This may look like a picture you see often. A mother holding her sleeping child. But this is no ordinary picture. Not to me. I waited for 11 months for the night my child would WANT me to hold him to sleep. We got back from Afghanistan with a rocky start. He didn’t even know who I was. To come back missing your child so much, and all you want as his mother is to feel needed. Wanted. Well, tonight I got my wish. As he crawled up onto my lap, lied down on my shoulder and sunk into a peaceful sleep. A sleep that only a mother can give her child as he breathes and dreams soundly. Feeling safe and secure in my arms. This is all I wanted. And I finally got it back. (Taken with instagram)
